Baby Boots- New Gangster In Da Houz

Hi every bunnies in da world! Bunny's mama promised to update the blog but she failed. Bad mama! bad mama! But mama never forgets to feed Bunny.. And even bring Bunny a friend home!

Every Bunnies, please say Hi to Boots! Boots is a buck. He is the cutest gangster in the the town!

Boots is just 1 years old. His birthday is on 1st December 2013. He's very unpredictable, runs fast like a lightning bolt and has temper. At this moment, we have no idea what is his favourite food. He doesn't seem to have extra interests on carrots, bananas and oranges. So, ended up Bunny always steals Boots food. Kekekeke...

Boots doesn't like Bunny too. Bunny doesn't like Boots too. Mama says we must get along for Chinese New Year because Boots and Bunny have to go for a car ride! Then Bunny and Boots become friends now, so that we can stay together next time.

Alright, Its time for Bunny's afternoon nap. Goodbye alls!

xoxo,
Bunny Boy

An Empty Cage

The clock stroke twelve midnight, and I am still not asleep. I had to boil water for tomorrow and while waiting for my kettle to whistle, I lay on the couch. I listened quietly. There was sounds of the passing vehicles, and noises from the LRT construction site nearby. There was also sounds of the night crickets. I listened...and listened...

I was hoping to hear the sound of the gushing pee, or sounds of hay being bitten, or at least the creaks of the cage. Empty...

The large cage inhabited by the two renowned rabbits, Fluffy & Bunny lies empty. Silent...

Fluffy had succumbed to her G.I disease last two months. We coped with her departure by channeling our grief into loving, caring, nurturing little Bunny Boy. Bunny was coping really well, along with us. We spend the night letting him roam free, giving him occassional treats, letting him on the sofa, watching television with us. He was an avid follower of humans. My guess was that he did not know what to do, he wants to play with us. Bunny has always been a timid one. It took us years to gain his trust. Before this, he will mimic Fluffy's actions. He dislikes human touch and was very sensitive to unfamiliar noises. Fluffy's departure also marks the beginning of a new relationship benchmark between Bunny and us.

As much as I am enjoying all the kisses and cuddles from Bunny, I miss Fluffy terribly. I miss her lovely eyes, her occasional winks and her bites! I miss the way my bunnies chased each other playfully! I missed them both even more now that Bunny goes for his annual vacation at his daddy's house.

I always thought that Fluffy and Bunny were just pets. Never did I know that this two little creatures had a lot of love within their tiny body. They taught me humour, responsibility, anger management, and many more. They no longer appear as 'just pets' to me. They are FAMILY, and family stays together no matter what happens!

Tale of A Rabbit Named Fluffy (Year 1)

Fluffy and Bunny came into our lives on 28th January 2011. They were very small, and XeROz bought them from a pet store. These two rabbits caught his eyes, and he bought them for me.
(Note: please do not buy from a pet store, there are a lot of rabbits waiting to be adopted)

Fluffy was golden brown, and very friendly when she started living with us. She eats almost everything and was so lovely. She runs and she hops happily, it was really a happy rabbit.

Fluffy became really mischievious during here teenage months. She sneaks like a theif, runs like an athlete, she was really super active. It was tiring just to catch up with her. Very often she bites our cables and wires. Some of the wires even short-circuited, and sparked, but she hopped away unscathed. We were really worried about her, especially when we wanted to entrusted her to be a free-roaming rabbit.

She will always run herself tired and doze off like this!

There was once, me and Redbuttockz thought that we had lost her. She was missing for quite some time. We were calling "Fluffy! Fluffy!" and we asked Bunny to help look for her. Bunny was pretty hopeless in such cases. Haha! Finally she came out looking like this. Holy Christ! Fluffy, where have you been?

She went underneath the fridge! Thank God she wasnt electrocuted and die, as we wouldn't have found her!

Fluffy and Bunny grew up together, sleep together...

They played together as well...

Fluffy have always been smarter than Bunny. She was the first to be able to find a way on top of her food storage table. She would flip the plastic open and eat her heart out.

and when we scold her, she would stand still, looked at us, and gave us this face. We forgave her immediately!

Fluffy and Bunny sharing their treats. We always make sure to give them some treats to make them happy.

Fluffy can also wink. She sometimes wink especially when we talk to her. I wonder if she understands what we were saying to her. Well, she's really intelligent.

How would you imagine Fluffy to be in Year 2? She grew tremendously, and we then moved to our home. Fluffy and Bunny of course, moved along with us too! Stay tuned for more stories.

XOXO,
Mama

The Most Difficult Blog Post

There's this post that I know I have to write on behalf of little Fluffy. After all, this blog is about Fluffy and Bunny. It has been really difficult to string those words, and every thought of it filled with so much bitter sweet memories.

But, I guess as their mama, I'm obliged to write about this experience, as this is a part of life.

Mama Nicole

Funny Messy Munching Bunny

It's our weekly buffet session! As usual, we are served with vegetables, and some treats like this time, its carrots.

Being the smartest rabbit in the whole wide world, Bunny eats all the carrots first. Carrots are delicious! Carrots are orange in colour, looks attractive and tasted sweet and crunchy. Bunny don't know why mama loves watching Bunny and Fluffy during our buffet session. Mama just can't leave us alone!!! Bunny wonders why!

After carrots are finished, then only Bunny will attack the vegetables. Bunny dislikes vegetable stalk, they are less tasty than the leafy part. If Bunny has a choice, Bunny would leave the stalk away. But momma wont feed us until all stalks are finished! Bad mama!!! Bunny knows momma doesn't like to eat vegetables too but momma keeps forcing us eat!

Hey momma?! Are u done laughing at me?

*momma rolls on the floor laughing*

What's so funny with this??

Fluffy and Bunny Travels 200km

Last month, Papa and Mama has no choice but to bring us with them on a 2hour 30mins car ride about 200km away from home. So they put us in a smaller cage (we don't travel so we do not have a carrier, but papa says will buy one for us next year). Mama and papa told us to behave and so we put on our best behaviour! We sat at one corner and didn't throw tantrums!

We stopped a couple of times and daddy opens the window for us. I think he wanted to give us some fresh air, but we overheard that mama complained that the car was pungent with our pee. Wakakaka!! Well mama, all babies pee right?

After a couple of hours, we arrived at the destination. Papa and mama was worried sick about us. But we are strong bunnies! We were given fresh vegetables but we were not eating during the ride. So they thought we are going to die. But after we came out of the cage, we began pooping all over the place! Hahaha!

We were tired and we were getting used to a new environment.

Bunny gave mama a shock of her life in the morning when mama found bunny on top of the cage! Mama fears if Bunny will runaway!

So after that mama gave Bunny a box to make a rabbit tunnel, and Bunny occupies the tunnel the whole day!

Fluffy, on the other hand, was sleeping around like a boss!

Overall the service provided during the trip outstation was superb. We were well fed, and watered. We had so much attention with all the relatives. The neighbour dog gave us a barking welcome and we were treated like a bunnylebrity! Everyone loved us!!!! Even our bunny poop is treasured! The humans collected our poop to fertilize their plants!

We really enjoyed our day off! After a week, we travelled home happily! What an exciting bunny life we had!

Mom says no more vacation for us because she's worried we will fall sick from travelling! But I think we will do fine, maybe we get to travel again, next year?

Bunnies,
Fluffy and Bunny

Bunnies Great Escape

Hello everybunny,
Today Fluffy and Bunny had a great non-supervised 2 hours of freedom. Mummy usually feeds us in our cage before going out for dinner, but today, we escaped!

As usual, they love to hang a bunch of banana at the dining chair. And, as usual, we love to jump to grab a bite at the banana!

We can't actually reach the chair, so usually we steal the bananas from daddy!

We love bananas! But the humans always take away the bananas from us and hide it far far away!

Not today, because no humans is around at home. Bunny and Fluffy got the last piece of banana, and finished everything, inclusive of the skin.

Yummy, it is very delicious! Mummy is very angry because we escaped! But, Mummy, you have forgotten to close the cage door!

Life is great with Bananas!

Love,
Bunny and Fluffy

The Banana Thief

Hi, my name is Fluffy. I loves to eat Nanas (Bananas). Mummy hangs the nanas on the chair, I hop with my strong legs and stole a nana!

Then mummy caught me and took the big nana from me. But mummy gave me eat a little bit!

Then mummy throws the skin in a black bin. I think it is called the Dustbin. Bunny and I snuck into the dustbin but all we found are banana peel. Yuck, they tasted bitter!

We both got whacked by mummy at our buttocks because we play with the dirty dustbin.

I will try to steal another nana today!

Fluffy, the thief!

Rambo

One Rambo to rule us all,
One Rambo to find us,
One Rambo to bring us all,
And in the light, unite us with love.

Tears still lingers in my eyes when I thought of him. Rambo, you have fought well and it's time for you to rest.

Deepest Condolences to Bunnymama and papa, not to forget Rambo's big brother, Eddy, who is still confused over Rambo's departure.

Have many many binkies across the Rainbow Bridge. You will never be forgotten.

Fluffy & Bunny.

Our MaMa!

Bunny just don't get it. Mama let us run and play, but everytime we bite she whacks us and push as away.

Then when we bink and hop, she'll be like "awww, Bunny ar, why you so cute ya?". Bunny cant answer her because Bunny cannot deny that Bunny is cute!

Yesterday mama said "Bunny come, let's camwhore"

So Bunny went near mama, then mama took a weird looking thing that have the sound 'chak chak chak'. Sounds scary, so Bunny turns away...

The next thing Bunny knew was a shriek. "Bunny ah, why you show your backside to mama ah?!"

Bunny hops away. Mama, Bunny's backside is cutest ma...

Then Bunny come sniff mama, and camwhore with mama. Mama so happy that she laughed stupidly. Don't you think humans are so weird?

Fun with Buns

Mama occassionally will give us veges. Bunny likes to eat the veges non stop, while I like to play with the veges. I can pull the veges far far, then shred it, then leave it on the floor. Then i go back to the vege container and smack the container so that the vegetables all fly out.

Bunny loves to eat gracefully. He's a real juicer because he blends the vege with his teeth and the vegetable juice will ooze out making his mouth and hand green in color. Last time, mama will put a napkin for Bunny but i guessed mama become lazy already.

After eating, i normally do some exercise. Mama will throw a cloth to cover me, and i will find my way out from there. Bunny is not interested in games. He prefers to sleep.

This is how we have fun with the buns!

Farm In The City: Rabbits Area

Last week mama goes to an animal farm which houses many rabbits. It was a place where animals were kept and taken care of, and children can pet and feed the animals with the vegetables provided.

Mama was very happy to see many bunnies roam freely. The area was spacious enough for rabbits to run, and they have a hut to shelter themselves from the rain.

Rabbits are not of pedigree, but they all looked cute altogether. Guinea Pigs are housed here together with rabbits too!

However, mama is also sad, because some of the rabbits have infection. They looked sad. It's either the rabbits are sick, or fight amongst themselves.

The rabbits are not spayed too, hence could explain the dominance amongst the animals.

Rabbits are cute, gentle creatures that can bring happiness to children and adults. Bunny and Fluffy hopes that the rabbits there will be taken good care of.

Here are suggestion on how to improve the rabbit's immunity and health:

PROPER DIET
1) Give the rabbits sufficient amount of hay. The horse stable is nearby, and rabbits can eat the same hay as the horse, it wouldn't be too expensive right?

2) Supply rabbits with various kinds of greens. The same type of vegetable everyday (eg: kangkung) is not nourishing enough. There are spaces around the rabbit farm, where they can plant carrot tops. That area can be made into rabbit's vegetable patch as well.

NEUTER
1) Neutering helps in controlling the number of rabbits and guinea pigs in that area. By that, the competition can be reduced and animal stress is also eventually reduced.

2) By neutering, we can avoid multiple in-breedings. In-breedings should be avoided because of the high probability of genetic defects occurance. Rabbits breed about every few months. And each time they breed, it could reach about 6-10 babies. Beside avoidance of being overpopulated, these babies are very vulnerable to diseases, and diseases can spread to other rabbits.

3) Neutering decrease aggressive and dominance. Hence, reduces territorial fights from occurring.

Overall, these are the main problems found in the farm. Nonetheless, mama has mentioned that the farm indeed has done a good job in:

1) Ensuring rabbits are sheltered from rain and cold winds. During mama's last visit, it suddenly rained heavily, the farm workers quickly usher the rabbits back into their hut. And then release them again when the sun shines back.

2) Feeding vegetables instead of carrots. In Langkawi Geopark Rabbit Attraction, the caretaker actually provide the visitors carrots and kangkung for RM1 (per cup). In Farm In The City, the caretaker will provide unlimited of kangkung for the rabbits.

3) No Smell. The space was big enough, and the obnoxious odor of rabbit poop and urine was not noticed.

Mama hope that the next trip she visits, she can see some healthy looking rabbits there.
